Wow I cant beleive this is finally over!
Ok here is my story:
I got to the Johannesburg Consulate at around 8am on the 20 September 2007.
I got inside and was called to the first window. I was asked for all of the doccuments that were required in the pack 3. The lady was very nice and helpfull. She made a pack for me and a seperate one for my daughter. She asked for my husbands divorce decree and I was not aware that I had to bring his, she said no worries and made a copy of the one in the doccuments that they received from the NVC.
I was asked to sit down.
About 15 mins later I was called up to another counter where my finger prints were taken.
I sat down again. About 40 mins later I was called up to the last counter for my interview. It was the same office that did my interview for my visitors visa last year. She swore me in. My little girl wanted to speak to her, she was nice and asked my daughter questions like:

We had our interview on Monday, August 13, 2007, and it went off without a hitch. To this point, all my dealings with the Johannesburg Consulate have been stellar. They are very serious and formal, however extremely nice and helpful when you have a question. We filed directly via the consulate as I (the American) moved to South Africa to be with and marry Darren. So, we have been to the Joburg consulate on many occasions for a variety of matters. As a matter of fact, the only negative thing I could say about the consulate is that their security force isn't the brightest and do not have the best grasp of the English language. You may only enter the embassy one at a time and on the day of our interview after I had gone in, one of the guards asked Darren if I was his wife. To wich Darren replied yes. The guard then asked if I was American. When Darren said yes, the Guard asked what was wrong with South African women. It is a good thing I wasn't standing there.

Interview was a smooth process, took about 5mins. The interviewer was very friendly. Was asked to detail how I met my fiance, when we met up, and a few other basic questions which were very simple to answer. Thought our photos in our application were very cute. I did bring a ton of extra information for incase I was asked to supply originals or any extra evidence, but it wasn't needed.

My interview was set for 9 o'clock, I arrived at half past 7 and there was a queue already! I was allowed in immediately, so that was nice.
Handed in all the paperwork as requested in the K3 interview letter, and I was done by 9 o'clock.
The gentleman who took my paperwork was telling me that all the documents were not handed in, and asked me where my copies where. (I handed him 2 seperate stacks!). Then he asked me a couple of questions, and told me that my paperwork was not complete and I better be truthfull, I then explained that as I was denied entry, and allowed to withdraw my application for admission the last time, that certainly should not qualify for dates visiting the US, then he told me I was supposed to write that on the DS230 part II and then I could explain it to the consular officer. The interview went great, except for the 3 hour wait to be called up. I got passed along from my case worker to the actual US interviewer, but they were both very friendly and set me at ease. I was asked a few questions, which lasted maybe 5 minutes. Nothing hectic. They didn't even ask for any more photos or proof or anything. But have it all ready just in case.
Huge relief when he said you can go home and crack the champagne
